Roetzel’s Jonathan R. Secrest to Present at GMA Webinar Series: The Rise of Fair Labor Standards Act Claims Against the Food, Beverage and Consumer Product Industry

On Wednesday, August 10, join the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) at 2 pm EDT as it presents the latest in its webinar series, “The Rise of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Claims Against the Food, Beverage and Consumer Product Industry.”
Featured speaker is Roetzel’s Jonathan R. Secrest. Mr. Secrest’s practice focuses on assisting clients with employment-related matters, including representation through all the stages of litigation and before state and federal agencies. He represents small and large employers on employment issues ranging from sexual harassment claims to alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act. His experience includes successful representation at the trial and appellate court levels. In addition to practicing employment law, Mr. Secrest represents food manufacturers in defense of food product liability claims. He has obtained numerous dismissals of complaints, grants of summary judgment and jury verdicts on behalf of clients.
The hour-long webinar will focus on the rising number of wage and hour lawsuits filed under the FLSA, and the fact that the Department of Labor, more than ever before, is conducting audits and bringing action against employers, leaving beverage and consumer product employers particularly at risk. The webinar is designed to inform industry members about the trends in wage and hour litigation, and present ways for employers to minimize their exposure, limit their liability and prevent future claims.
You should consider attending the webinar especially if you are:
  • In-house counsel, an HR director, or a risk manager at a CPG company;
  • Outside defense counsel for a CPG company; or
  • An insurance claims representative or third-party administrator.
Webinar registration rates are $195 for GMA members and $295 for non-members.
